Expression is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should be proficient in both front-end and back-end development, focusing on developing and maintaining web-based applications and systems using modern technologies. In this position, you will have opportunities to work with small, feature-focused teams to engineer solutions, mentor others, and learn from our staff of data scientists, DevSecOps engineers, product designers, and your fellow developers. You should be knowledgeable and customer-oriented, possessing strong communication and presentation skills. You should also have superior technical expertise and a problem-solving aptitude.
Responsibilities:
- Engineer and develop web-based applications and systems using modern technologies such as TypeScript, React, Node.js
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Collaborate and lead agile cross-functional teams in the
- Execute code review and ensure coding standards and best practices are followed
- Debug and troubleshoot issues in development and production environments
- Ensure scalability, performance, and security of the applications and systems
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies.
- Mentor and guide less experienced developers
Location:
- Hybrid in the DMV area (Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia) with monthly onsite visits to our client site in Annapolis MD and quarterly gatherings at our HQ in downtown DC.
Minimum Experience:
- Secret Clearance or higher
- Associates degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or related field and 10+ years of experience as a Software engineer
- 7+ years of recent full-stack development experience
- Strong experience with React or similar frameworks such as Angular 2 or Vue.js
- Strong experience with the Express.js backend framework and related technologies such as GraphQL, REST, at least one ORM
- Experience visualizing big data
- Experience some of: PostgreSQL, Redis, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, MongoDB, AWS S3Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms
- Proficiency with Git VCS
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to mentor and guide junior developers
